Wow, this was such a beautiful read, thank you. I loved this piece! I’m so glad your kids like SITR, and you’re right, it has some wacky tangents!! Part of its charm. Currently also reading 9th street women- isn’t it great?!

Lovely! O and I have been enjoying a lot of Kate Bush and Chapple Roan lately and I can’t wait to actually talk about it with her one day. I loved imagining their reactions to SITR. How enchanting.

I started reading The Mother Artist (at a .75 page speed; I’ve picked it up more times than pages I’ve read) and I need to put Ninth Street Women on my list! I’m so excited for you NYC trip.

Loved reading about your kids’ reactions to Singing in the Rain! My teen and I still quote the line “Dignity, always dignity!” from a couple of elementary age viewings. It’s a great line for a moment that has … not… been dignified 😆

Love it--I can absolutely see how that line would apply to many moments of family life. When I used to teach freshman writing I used that clip to illustrate the concept of dramatic irony.
